My approach Is relational. The exchanges between us are likely to reflect the interactions we both encounter with the outside world. As such, they are very helpful; we can unpick misunderstandings, hurts and disappointments, as they happen in therapy, and address the issues that lie behind them. This can deepen our understanding of, and compassion for ourselves, and help break the pattern of hitherto unhelpful or dysfunctional relationships, creating a new way of relating to others, both within therapy and in the wider world.
My consulting room is five minutes walk from the centre of Bridport.
With a background in the creative arts, I am open to exploring issues in a variety of ways. You will probably choose to talk about the things that bring you to therapy, but I also offer other non-verbal ways of working, such as drawing, working with paper, clay, or sand play, as these can help access deeper feelings.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
