My Approach

I invite you to measure the effectiveness of what we do together in two ways.

The first is that our sessions, even the first, should be an experience, rather than just a chat. Something happens that would not occur when talking with a friend, writing in a journal, or thinking about things by yourself. This is a therapeutic relationship: it supports you to explore what you need to in ways that might not otherwise be possible.

The second is change. You are here because you need something to be different. The therapy session is 50 minutes every week, but in the rest of the week you may see changes in yourself that matter: in relationships, self-care, work, mood, and well-being.

These changes are a consequence of the deeper transformations that the experience of therapy brings about.

My approach could be described as Embodied Relational, including the body as well as an awareness of our human capacities for relating.

About Me

I trained as a psychotherapeutic counsellor at the Re-Vision Centre in London, qualifying in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling in 2014. I completed a three-year training in Somatic Experiencing, a body-oriented therapy, in 2018.

I’m the founder and joint co-ordinator of the Brighton Psychedelics, which campaigns for the regulated use of psychedelic substances in a therapeutic context. I offer integration sessions to help people who have had challenging or meaningful psychedelic experiences.

I’ve had a life-long interest in Indian philosophy and spirituality. In 2003 I published a book, Eastern Philosophy: The Greatest Thinkers and Sages from Ancient to Modern Times, which has been republished several times in the UK and US.
