Who comes to therapy?
Do you feel like you are not yourself lately? Is it hard to get out of bed in the mornings? Work or study is going well but you are ‘off your game’ at times and find yourself demotivated? Sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of personal goals and making confident decisions becomes difficult.
Maybe the idea of social gatherings makes you feel anxious? Or friends have noticed something has changed in you. This can make you feel isolated and alone, like no one understands.
While the state of the world feels bleak and unpredictable it is difficult to know where you stand. Perhaps you are finishing study or making a career change and are unsure of where you are going now. Do you struggle to be ‘truly you’ around family and friends who judge your choices?
I offer a warm, inclusive, relaxed space where you can feel safe, accepted and understood.
How does it work?
I provide a space that is unique and independent from the rest of your life where you can talk without judgement and be fully accepted. Together we will explore your thoughts and feelings to understand how you got here and find the root of your problem to restore your identity, health, and happiness.
When the path ahead is foggy it can leave you feeling unsure of who you are or what you want. The process of looking back into the past, can help you understand how you got here, in order to make clearer decisions for the future. I will walk with you and be your sounding board, listening ear, and confidant to help create lasting change. Through exploring your relationships and upbringing I will help you achieve the goals you have to reach the happiness you deserve.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw upon a range of different modalities, enabling me to create a specially tailored approach that suits you. The process of ‘Integration’ refers to bringing together separate parts to create a cohesive whole. This bringing together can help empower you to stand confidently in your identity to flourish as intended. My focus on relational psychology will offer you insight into how your significant relationships have impacted you, both past and present.
What happens next?
Taking that first step to reach out for help is brave. To make sure you feel comfortable choosing me to walk this journey with you please get in touch. I offer a free consultation that involves an informal 20-minute chat on the phone. You will be able to tell me a bit about yourself and why you’re reaching out, and ask about me and how I work.
If you feel happy we will arrange a first session, discuss the contract and set the scene by thinking about your goals for therapy. I offer you autonomy over your sessions and am happy to work on a short, medium, or long term basis depending on your needs.
Please get in touch via email or phone, feel free to call or text me to organise a free consultation.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
