Special Interests
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
Couples often get stuck in patterns which are unhelpful and which are endlessly repeated. These patterns are often learnt from their own parents relationship but also from specific attachment styles. Therapy is a way of resolving these long running issues
I work as a family therapist in a specialist eating disorder service and specifically with families who are dealing with the eating disorders
Families are usually the route of happiness and unhappiness. Therapy is a way of looking at significant issues which families face e.g. separation, death, illness and other stresses in the family life cycle and how they interact with our experience of attachments
I work with parents who are have difficulties with a child's behaviour with a very specific intervention designed to increase parental presence and promote good attachments
