My practice is a mindfulness-based humanistic integrative therapy, called Core Process Psychotherapy. It combines Western approaches to psychotherapy with the wisdom and awareness of Buddhism, providing a contemplative and psycho-spiritual approach. I believe that we all have an inner core, a potential for well-being, and that it is possible to bring it to the surface, even when we are depressed, scared, anxious. The way for that is becoming aware of the inner processes that direct our life.
These are troubled times - I offer a space for peace and reflection, helping to understand how the way we react to what life throws at us can make things even harder. Coming from a German and Italian origin, I trained as a medical doctor. I have worked internationally running public health programmes and have settled down with the NHS some years ago. I graduated in Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute. I have been training for six years, including working for one year as a counsellor with a London-based mental health charity. All clinical work carried out by me is subject to regular supervision by an UKCP-accredited clinical supervisor and I am bound by my Institute’s Code of Ethics. I am a member of the UKCP and ACPP. Our sessions can be held in English, German or Italian.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
