I draw upon a range of different ways of working, theory and practice to provide a flexible form of therapy. Integrative therapy reflects many schools of psychotherapy such as developmental, psychoanalytic, existential, humanistic and transpersonal traditions. This type of therapy can feel more inclusive as there is often more choice of how to proceed.
The therapy I offer is relationally based, and we explore, focus and prioritise your needs and create a working relationship that is at the heart of all our work together. Our working alliance is built on trust; it is unique, and offers acceptance, understanding, change and support. Undertaking relational integrative therapy often involves a medium to long term commitment.
I work mainly in person from Headingley Wellbeing Centre in Leeds. The first session is for 75 minutes to assess your needs and how we might work together. All sessions thereafter are for a full hour.
I have a Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy. I work with adults for short-term targeted work, and longer-term psychotherapy. I have been in private therapy practice for over 20 years working with individuals, companies and health charities. With a career in nursing, teaching and therapy over 30 years, I have supported countless people through many difficult issues and life challenges.
My previous role was as a lecturer in psychology and health care in Further and Higher Education, managing health and social care programmes, and providing mentoring/coaching for teaching staff.
I am registered on the Leeds Beckett University Network Directory of approved therapists for student counsellors and psychotherapists. I also hold a BA(Hons) Psychology, Post Graduate Certificate in Education, Practitioner Hypnotherapy, Master Practitioner NLP, Diploma in Sound Therapy, HeartMath and mBIT coach.
