Welcome to my profile. I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist, counsellor and consultant based in:
* Muswell Health Complementary Therapy Centre, Muswell Hill, North London, N10 3HL
* Cherry Hill, Barnet, North London, EN5 1BE
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where I work with individuals, couples and groups to achieve lasting personal change. We can initially meet to talk through the issues that have led you to seek help. Therapy has helped my previous clients to:
* increase confidence
* gain a greater understanding of themselves
* improve their relationships with others
* progress their career
* learn to self-manage their mental health and live more fulfilling lives.
You might want to focus on a specific problem that is troubling you, or you may simply have a sense that things are ‘not quite right’. Perhaps you are feeling dissatisfied at work, finding relationships difficult or you might feel that you are not reaching your full potential. I work flexibly and creatively to help you find ways to manage and overcome difficulties with a variety of approaches. You can read more about my specific approach here.
I have fifteen years experience working as a psychotherapist, group facilitator and consultant both within private and public organisations including the BBC, the NHS, local colleges and schools and the Employment industry. I have experience of working with a variety of different people of all ages and cultures.
My specialisms lie in working with issues related to employment (including stress, illness, PTSD, long periods of unemployment), trauma, depression (including post-natal) and anxiety management, relationship issues and confidence building.
My first training is in Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapy, a method of understanding what happens between and within people, which helps us to change patterns of interaction that interfere with achieving life aspirations. Overall, the approach aims to facilitate healing by learning to recognize and change old, self-limiting patterns. I also draw on other styles of psychotherapy to find collaborative ways of working that suits each individual client. It really depends on what you are coming to therapy for – you may have specific goals in mind and a desire for structure or be looking to explore and understand yourself and relationships with others better. I may also use a variety of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques, positive visualisation, relaxation exercises, and some practical exercises which can enhance the therapy process between sessions.
