Welcome, and thank you for visiting my profile.
My name is Jacqueline. I’m a professionally qualified, experienced, and accredited psychotherapist offering therapy for individuals and couples. My approach is rooted in existential-analytic and integrative psychotherapy, as well as Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT). I am also trained as a Couples Therapist for Depression.
I am registered with the UKCP, BPC, and BACP, and I practise in accordance with the ethical guidelines of these organisations. My academic and professional training includes:
• An MSc in Psychotherapy and Counselling
• A Postgraduate Diploma and Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling
• An Accredited Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy Certificate from the Anna Freud Centre
• A Couples Therapy for Depression Certificate from Tavistock Relationships
My Approach
My work is relational, collaborative, and deeply attuned to your individual needs. I don’t apply a fixed model or rigid technique—instead, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to create a flexible and responsive space that supports your unique journey.
Therapy with me involves exploring both your present difficulties and the deeper emotional patterns that may underlie them. I pay attention to what’s going on in your inner world, how your past may be influencing your present, and how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected.
Sessions are a space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to make sense of things that may feel overwhelming, confusing, or painful. I see therapy as a joint process: I walk alongside you to help shine light on what might be difficult to see alone. Over time, this process can help you access your own inner resources, make empowered choices, and move toward lasting change.
Whether we're addressing a specific issue or exploring broader life patterns, I work to support you with care, curiosity, and compassion.
Experience and Areas of Focus
With over 13 years of experience in both NHS mental health services and private practice, I offer short-term and open-ended therapy to adults from a wide range of backgrounds. My work is inclusive and culturally sensitive, and I welcome people of all identities, genders, cultures, and beliefs.
I work with a broad range of issues, including:
• Anxiety and depression
• Low self-esteem and confidence
• Identity issues
• Relationship difficulties
• Divorce and separation
• Miscarriage and loss
• Stress and burnout
• Work and life pressures
• Trauma, PTSD, and complex PTSD
• Intergenerational trauma
• Emotional regulation
• Guilt, fear, shame, and hopelessness
• Race-related and cultural concerns
• Meaninglessness, loneliness, and existential challenges
Through our work, I can help you explore the underlying causes of distress, understand negative beliefs and patterns, and move toward improving your wellbeing, insight, and creating an impactful change.
What to Expect in Therapy
Therapy is a space where you can explore your experiences openly and safely. My role is to help you make sense of what you're going through—emotionally, mentally, and relationally—at a pace that feels right for you.
You can expect me to listen deeply and without judgement. Together, we’ll explore what brings you to therapy, uncover patterns that may no longer serve you, and begin to understand the root causes of your difficulties. Sometimes, this might involve looking at childhood or past experiences; at other times, we may focus more on your day-to-day challenges, work, relationships, or decision-making.
My integrative approach allows us to work both in the here-and-now and at greater emotional depth when needed. I’ll support you in connecting with your feelings, identifying what’s getting in the way of the life you want, and creating space for new possibilities and choices to emerge.
Ultimately, my aim is to support your process of gaining insight, self-discovery, growth, and transformation—helping you feel more empowered & balanced, more connected to yourself, and more able to live in alignment with what matters to you.
Getting Started
Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re feeling vulnerable or unsure about what to expect. It's completely normal to feel anxious or hesitant in the beginning. That’s why I aim to make the process as welcoming and straightforward as possible.
I offer an initial consultation where we can talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain from it, and how I might be able to support you. This is also an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work and ask any questions you may have. There's no pressure to commit—we’ll simply explore whether we feel like a good fit to work together.
If we decide to continue, we’ll arrange a regular weekly session time. Sessions are held in a confidential setting and can take place either in person or online, depending on your needs and preferences.
If you’re unsure about therapy or whether it's right for you at this time, you're still very welcome to reach out for a conversation. Sometimes even just starting that dialogue can be an important part of the process.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you as you take this important step toward change, growth, and a more meaningful direction in life.
Warm regards,
Jacqueline
