Indications that something in life needs attending to may come in many forms. You may be feeling anxious, depressed or overwhelmed; suffering in relationships, or any number of other distressing and painful, sometimes physical, symptoms.
My aim is to provide a space of safety in which you feel heard and understood. This will involve my listening both to what you intentionally and consciously bring to be worked through, but also to what’s not being said, or cannot yet be spoken about.
Exploring what is going on for you may involve recognising inner conflicts - thoughts or feelings which can at times feel uncomfortable or difficult to face. The connections between these ‘neglected’ aspects of ourselves and current difficulties may appear quite readily, whilst at other times things can be more complex and take longer to come into focus.
An initial meeting will be an opportunity to meet me and see if you feel counselling/ psychotherapy will be helpful to you. It is a chance to think about any anxieties or fears you may have, as well as what you would like to achieve. We can discuss whether a short or ongoing arrangement is most suited to your needs and unique situation.
