My Approach

I work in an Integrative way but also am fully Trained in CBT/REBT and Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy.

About Me

About Me/General Info
I am a registered and accredited member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and have many years of experience with a wide range of clients.

I bring together different approaches depending on your needs and the issues you are dealing with so that we can work effectively together. As well as being trained in humanistic and transpersonal models, I am a qualified CBT/REBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy) Therapist. This means that I can work in a short-term, focussed way to help with specific problems such as phobias, generalised anxiety disorders, depression and panic attacks.

I am also a qualified Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist and can work with couples and individuals on relationship and/or sexual issues. I am currently in the last stage of completing an Advanced Training Course in Couples Therapy.

Whatever your situation, therapy can help:
· It is a space for you talk openly about the things which you never talk to anyone else about and that cause you anxiety or make you feel down and bad about yourself
· It is a place to reflect on your life, to understand the things that have happened to you and how you have been affected by them so that you can start to make changes

I offer a safe, confidential and supportive space where together we can explore the things that concern you so that you can start to make sense of what is happening, find out what you want from life and make changes.

EXPERIENCE
I have over 10 years of one-to-one experience as a therapist working with a wide range of clients in both long-term and short-term therapy. I also have experience of working with couples addressing relationship and psychosexual issues. I have extensive experience working with complex bereavement in an NHS setting and in short-term work for an NHS IAPT Service.

I have worked with a wide range of issues including (but not limited to) generalised anxiety disorders, depression, stress, loss, bereavement, miscarriage, panic attacks, relationship and sexual difficulties/dysfunctions, gender and identity issues, LGBTQ+ issues, trauma, sexual/physical/emotional abuse/trauma, rape.

I have an enhanced DBS check and am covered by professional indemnity insurance.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I work very closely with bereavement and loss - I feel that this is the basis for most issues in our life, we have all experienced some sort of loss and issues surrounding that. I work with helping people to accept their loss and come to a place of being able to move forwards with that loss and to find a space that they feel comfortable and happy in.
I have a particular interest in relationship and psychosexual Therapy - I can help with any relationship issues, problems in the bedroom, problems with interpersonal relationships and how to begin to listen and understand your partner. I also am happy to work with Couples and Polyamorous Relationships.
I am fully Qualified to work with any Sexual Issues and Problems - This can include, but is not limited to, Erectile Dysfunction, Vaginismus, Rapid Ejaculation and any other Sexual Issue.
