In life, we often encounter challenges that can overwhelm and isolate us. It's not unusual to struggle with sharing these feelings even with those closest to us. Imagine embarking on a process of self-discovery where therapy serves as a guide, helping you to grow and overcome the problems you face now. In our sessions, we will explore your experiences in the here and now and look back at your past to see how it affects the way you live and act today. This process is more than just coping – you're already doing that. Our sessions aim to help you understand the 'why' behind your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, examine how these patterns serve you, and consider if they need updating.
My name is Helein, and I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and Adoption Support counsellor with a private practice in Hove, East Sussex and Arundel, West Sussex, as well as online. I offer support to clients facing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and unhealthy relationship patterns. I also work with those navigating feelings of loss, whether stemming from the end of a relationship, the passing of a loved one, or a career transition. My areas of expertise include supporting individuals impacted by adoption, addressing addiction with a focus on substance misuse, and helping clients navigate the challenges of a late ADHD diagnosis.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
