Whether you are looking for support or trying to make sense of your life, Harriet is here to help. During the sessions you are given the space needed to wonder, reflect, and explore new ways/perspectives about yourself, gaining insight to make positive changes. Harriet’s strengths as a therapist include showing compassion, empathy, patience, and sensitivity to create a safe environment to explore difficult feelings freely. As part of her practice, she uses drawing and dreams to connect and understand your emotions. One of Harriet’s strengths is tracking emotions in the body and helping you to stay with it, so the feelings eventually subside or change. Harriet uses an integrative approach which means she can draw upon different therapeutic skills and theories according to what you might need.
With a background in message and holistic health Harriet has an ongoing interest in the relationship between the mind and the body. Harriet has previously managed a counselling service in a primary and secondary school and has a special interest in working with childhood wounds. Harriet’s areas of interests include low self-esteem, anxiety, shame, anxiety, bereavement, relationships, co-dependency, addictive behaviour, motherhood, anger, childhood trauma and sexual expression.
