My systemic psychotherapy training means that I will pay attention to the context of your life (or lives); your relationships, past and present; and the patterns of being, thinking, and communicating that these have led to. I do not believe that problems live inside of us, or that we are ever the problem ourselves. Rather, I consider that often our ‘problems’ are actually our attempts at solutions, and surviving as best we can, and that sometimes we get stuck.
This is where I think that therapy can be really useful. It provides a safe, supported environment in which brave new conversations can be had which might help shift this ‘stuck-ness’ and move things forward.
I will work with you individually, as a couple, or as a family, in a way that aims to enhance your own resources for change; pull out your strengths and resilience; and increase your capacity for empathy, for yourself or one another.
Hello, my name is Hannah and I’m a psychotherapist.
I am professionally registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I have a degree in Social Work and a master’s degree in Systemic and Family Psychotherapy. For the past 10 years, I have worked in Children’s Social Care and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in the NHS. I am experienced in supporting both individuals and families facing a whole range of challenges - including, but not limited to: separation and divorce; couple and/or family disagreements/disharmony; attachment concerns; parenting dilemmas; fostering; adoption; court and/or social care involvement; health concerns including eating disorders; chronic health conditions and disability; neurodivergence; trauma; anxiety and depression; and self-injurious and risk-taking behaviour.
In my private work, I offer sessions to individuals, couples, and families.
As required as part of my UKCP professional registration, I attend regular supervision with a more senior colleague and keep up to date with my Continuing Professional Development by consistently undergoing further training.
I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation before commencing any sessions. Thereafter, sessions are charged at £90 (for 50 minutes). I can provide short or longer term support.
I am pleased to offer sessions both in person and online.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
