My Approach

Our work would begin with the building of a trusting and safe therapeutic alliance where you can feel able to explore your frame of reference and the outcome you are aiming for. Your therapy will be tailored to you so we have regular discussions about the work, how it is going and what you might want to do next. While I offer some guidance, your therapy will always be your choice.
I use creative and psychodynamic methods in my work to enable exploration of relevant past experience should this become an area of therapy you wish to work on.
For relationship therapy, I have a broad range of experience with both diverse and traditional relationships and additional training and experience in fertility treatment. Couples often request sessions when the relationship is in crisis and that’s a good reason to choose therapy though I actively recommend attending before that point. Success can mean repairing the relationship, resolving issues, improving communication or resolving to uncouple amicably.
I have ten years of experience working with individuals. I offer both short and long term options for counselling and psychotherapy working with topics such as anxiety and intrusive thoughts, bereavement, life change, illness, relationship issues, family dynamics and career progression. I also have personal and professional experience with the entertainment industry and elite sport and welcome clients from these fields.

About Me

I am an integrative Humanistic psychotherapist and work in person at a premises in North Shields. I work with both couples and individuals for counselling and / or psychotherapy.
Previously I had a successful corporate career with a global company and was fortunate to travel to various countries as part of my job. I found myself drawn much more to people development than business targets and took an interest in the uniqueness of the individual. Following my own successful therapy I chose this as a career in search of purpose and meaning.
Personally, my heritage is proudly rooted in the local area and after living away, including abroad, I have decided there’s no place like home. As a psychotherapist, I have worked with a diverse range of clients and with people from a variety of backgrounds, lifestyles and professions. Whoever you are is welcome.
