My Approach

When I first read Sartre's words; "everything has been figured out, except how to live", something in me awoke to the huge, but strangely simple, task that we as humans face. How can we figure out how to truly live in a way that not just makes sense, but feels possible to us? If you have a sense that you're somehow getting in your own way when it comes to living, I'm committed to investigating that with you.

With this in mind, I take great care with assisting you to develop ways through which you can understand and hear yourself more clearly, and to do so from a human-hearted perspective. I practice in a deeply relational, collaborative and open manner, but am not adverse to challenging clients. I am direct but not directive, and endeavour to meet you where you are, to help you think about what you might need.

I love the work that I do because of the uniqueness of each person I encounter. I understood early on in my practice that uniqueness requires curiosity and care, and so established curiosity and care to be the basis from which I embody and maintain my therapeutic approach.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you think I may be able to support you. I offer a free 30 minute consultation on Zoom so that you have the opportunity to get a sense of me, and for me to understand how to best support you.

About Me

Hello, I’m Gia. I’m a psychotherapist (MA, MBACP, UKCP Accred) based in Hackney. I trained primarily within the Existential-Phenomenological tradition at Regent's University London.
My private practice consists of individual and group work. If you're curious about my groups, there are more details on my website.

I have 6 years of varied clinical experience from time spent in my individual and group practice. I have significant experience of working with the following themes: addiction (12-step and holistic models), domestic abuse, honour-based abuse, bereavement, familial estrangement/conflict, trauma, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, perfectionism, codependency, relationship difficulties, dysfunctional family systems, and work stress.
