• I’m a UKCP-registered Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, and I also work with adults using an integrative and flexible approach. At the heart of my work is the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood—whatever their age or background.
• My approach draws on a range of psychological and therapeutic models, including attachment theory, developmental psychology, transactional analysis, neuroscience, and psychodynamic thinking. I also use creative methods such as sand tray, painting, and image work, which can help when words are hard to find or when a more symbolic, playful approach feels right.
• I’ve trained in Developmental Dyadic Psychotherapy (DDP), Theraplay, and Trauma-Focused CBT and have completed further CPD in working with dissociation and self-harm. I have a special interest in developmental trauma, neurodiversity, and learning disabilities, and I always aim to provide a safe, accepting space that supports the whole person—not just the challenges they’re facing.
• Whether I’m working with a young person, an adult, or a family, I offer a warm and supportive environment where we can explore what’s going on together and move at a pace that feels right for you or your child.
• Any questions please get in contact by emailing me with your phone number and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Hi, I'm Gemma. Thank you for considering me to begin or continue you therapeutic journey with.
• As a therapist, I aim to create a non-judgmental, compassionate space where clients can feel seen, heard, and understood. I work with children from the age of 4 upwards, as well as adults, tailoring my approach to each person’s developmental stage, life experience, and therapeutic goals.
• The therapeutic tools I use, including sand trays and painting, allow individuals to externalize their inner world and gain insight into their struggles, whether they are related to anxiety, depression, trauma, family dynamics, or life transitions. The act of creating provides a powerful way to reflect on and release difficult emotions, making the process both healing and empowering.
• Creativity offers a direct path to the unconscious mind, enabling clients to express feelings and experiences that might not yet be accessible through words alone. This method also allows for non-linear healing, meaning that the therapeutic process can unfold in unexpected, but profoundly meaningful ways. Creativity unlocks parts of the psyche that are often inaccessible through traditional methods, and it can bring about surprising clarity, insight, and growth.
My Commitment to You
• Whether you're seeking help for a young child struggling with emotions, a teenager navigating complex identity issues, or an adult working through deeper emotional challenges, I am committed to providing a warm, empathetic, and collaborative space for healing. Through creative therapy, we can explore your inner world in a safe, supportive environment, allowing you to make meaningful connections, foster resilience, and build a stronger sense of self.
• If you’re ready to begin your therapeutic journey or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to working with you, whether you’re young or older, and helping you rediscover the strength and potential within.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
