With several years of experience within the NHS and Health and Social care field many share that my approach towards psychotherapy is creative and collaborative. My idea of psychotherapy is mainly but not solely focused on providing a space that fosters the possibility that an individual may embark on an important and sometimes necessary journey of self-exploration and discovery.
My approach offers a framework that is confidential and safe enough for you to begin to engage with therapy, either for a short term or longer period where gradually overtime you can develop a sense that this is a process you can learn to trust in and become confident towards.
I am a qualified psychotherapist, registered mental health nurse and child and young person therapist.
I have several years experience working with individuals with mental health challenges; children and adolescents and those with substance misuse addiction and dependency. Alongside providing private psychotherapy, I'm currently working in the NHS, highly experienced and equipped to work with a wide range of individuals with mental ill health, psychiatric diagnoses, psychological difficulties and other issues.
I offer psychotherapy sessions for adults and adolescents (young people). I also offer parent and infant therapeutic interventions (sometimes referred to as parent-infant psychotherapy or infant mental health) with the aim of supporting the emotional and physical wellbeing of parents and babies/ infants during the early childhood period which supports positive outcomes of later child development whilst enhancing and increasing parental confidence.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
