I am an integrative and transpersonal counsellor and psychotherapist offering long and short-term therapy. As an integrative psychotherapist I draw on a variety of approaches depending on my client’s individual needs, e.g. psychodynamic, person-centred, existential, gestalt, IFS and transpersonal.
I have a deep belief that we all have the innate ability to heal ourselves, but at times we may need support to do this. Through psychotherapy it is possible to make significant and lasting changes in our lives.
Experiences in life can sometimes feel overwhelming, hard to manage and we can’t always see a way through. Often our tendency is to turn away from our feelings at these times, but if we are able to turn towards them, in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space, we can start to get to know ourselves on a deeper level. Through doing so, we can begin to overcome our difficulties, and live a more authentic and fulfilling life.
Prior to training as a therapist I worked for several years in the TV industry as a producer. This has given me a solid understanding of how stressful it is working in a highly competitive and demanding environment. I have also trained and worked as a yoga teacher, leading to my deep interest in working with the body and connecting to its inner wisdom and guidance.
I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety and fears, stress, loss, low self-esteem, life crises, childhood trauma, motherhood, relationship difficulties and personal and spiritual development.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
