I understand that seeking therapy or counselling is a big step.
You may be feeling stuck, depressed or anxious, you may have experienced past trauma that still needs attention, or perhaps you simply wish to gain a deeper understanding of yourself.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is focused on understanding how early experiences and relationships might continue to affect us today. A strong therapeutic relationship or "alliance" will allow difficult feelings to be felt and explored safely, which can lead to profound change.
I work with clients on an open-ended basis, or for a fixed number of sessions (usually 12).
I work online or from a consulting room in the City, close to Monument tube and 10 minutes walk from London Bridge and Liverpool St stations.
Booking a first session can feel daunting, and also financially risky. I offer a free 15-20 minute phone call for this reason, so you can get a sense of whether you would like to work with me, and so I can understand a little about what is bringing you to therapy and how I might help.
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist working in the NHS and in private practice, with a particular interest in trauma, depression, LGBTQ+ issues, and questions of culture and identity.
I completed a rigorous four year postgraduate training at WPF Therapy, one of the UK's leading therapy and training providers. My previous experience includes teaching and journalism and these areas inform my practice.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
