My Approach

My style of therapy has evolved into a blend of conventional talk therapy, alongside other more creative techniques so that my clients can derive insight, hope and understanding so that they can move towards change. One session you might find yourself using toys to look at your family system and the next active imagination to explore unconscious patterns. We all have patterns and traps we are stuck in and blind spots we do not want to look at. Most of us have anger, or sadness or shame and it is my belief that is only in the safety of a holding therapeutic relationship that we can have the courage to take a dive into these matters. We hold our stress and pain in our bodies and hearts and we get caught in thinking loops that need careful and compassionate tending. Working with me will take you into new ways of seeing and thinking and feeling.

About Me

I am a therapist with a lot of experience, having qualified in 2006. I have taught counselling and psychology since then and worked in private practice and BUPA too. My life is bounded by family and friendship. My abiding interest in different spiritual traditions, art and culture (high and low) and a personal mission to tend to my physical health as I move through the life course all influence my work. Like us all, my life has been peppered with blessings and crises, loves and losses and I am interested in holistic approaches to healing emotional and psychological suffering.
