I work in a holistic way that honours your unique experience and draws on a number of different therapeutic approaches to tailor support to your individual needs. I believe in the resourcefulness of the human spirit and in the value of helping people to uncover their own solutions to life’s challenges. Through listening and questioning, I will work with you to help you to describe and clarify your unique way of being and how you relate to the world. I aim to support you in considering who you are, what matters to you, how you relate to others and how you might live your life more the way you want to.
Hi, I'm Emma and I work with adults either remotely, or in person in Shoreham or Hove. I offer a supportive, safe, and non-judgemental space to help you get a better understanding of where you find yourself in life. My experience comes from working in the NHS, a variety of community counselling services and private practice. I have worked with clients experiencing many different issues, including (but not limited to) identity issues, anxiety, depression, body image, addiction, grief, and relationship issues. I have specialist experience working with physical health issues, having worked with cancer patients and their families. I also have experience working with neurodiversity, in particular autism, and have a special interest in working with trauma and the possibility of creating post traumatic growth.
I have a Masters in Psychology and a PGDip in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling. I have attended additional training in Internal Family Systems Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Non Violent Communication.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
