I specialise in working with students of all ages and families. I am currently offering psychotherapy both online and face to face. I tend to use an integrative approach very much directed by the clients needs and preferred way of working. This could be through talking, play, drawing or writing.
My training is in Educational Psychotherapy which is a branch of psychotherapy that uses psychoanalytic and psychodynamic theories to help us understand the unconscious processes of the client that could be creating blocks to development and progress. I am highly trained in combining this theory with learning, creative and free expression tasks to enable the healing and therapeutic aspect of the work. I am very interested in understanding how a student relates to learning tasks and teachers.
Since 2008, I have worked in a variety of education settings. including primary schools, secondary schools, an international school and specialist provisions. I have extensive experience of working with children and young people with additional learning needs, which means I am able to adapt my approach to all thinking styles. I also have 2 years experience of CAMHS experience where I did my clinical placement in training.
Currently I am working as a counsellor and psychotherapist at the Royal Academy of Music and an East London secondary school. Alongside this I have a private practice at The Practice Rooms in Greenwich. I dedicate my spare time to volunteering for The Caspari Foundation on the marketing committee.
I have a keen interest in mindfulness and meditation which students are more and more interested in learning about and find useful.
I offer a sliding scale for those on low income and students.
