My Approach

Starting therapy can feel daunting, but my aim is to create a space where curiosity, creativity and exploration are encouraged within a compassionate and non-judgmental environment. As an integrative therapist, I draw on different approaches to suit your needs, and while I offer the arts as a powerful tool for self-expression and transformation, there’s no pressure to use them—we can simply talk if that feels more comfortable for you.

I help people connect with their emotions, explore patterns in their relationships, and rediscover parts of themselves that might have been overshadowed by life’s challenges.

About Me

Hi, I’m Ellie, an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist based in South London. I work with adults aged 18 and over, offering a supportive, nurturing space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions. Building a trusting and collaborative relationship is at the heart of how I work, and I value open and honest feedback as we move through this journey together. I also encourage the use of creativity to help unlock new perspectives and ways of understanding yourself. Whether or not we use the arts directly, I aim to help you reconnect with your innate creativity—a resource that can foster resilience, self-expression, and a renewed sense of possibility.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an Independent Sexual Violence Advocate, supporting survivors of sexual abuse, and spent over five years in the human rights field. These experiences deeply inform my understanding of resilience, trauma, and the complexities of human relationships.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Anxiety can feel overwhelming and all-consuming, but together we can explore ways to regain a sense of calm and control. Central to my approach is fostering self-compassion toward your anxiety and gaining an understanding of why and how it has developed as a protective mechanism. Rather than fighting against it, we’ll use creativity—through talking, artistic expression, or other reflective methods—to gently build a relationship with your anxiety. This process can help you untangle the thoughts and feelings that keep you stuck, building a sense of curiosity and resilience while developing tools to manage anxiety with greater confidence.
Depression often leaves people feeling disconnected—from themselves, their emotions, and the world around them. Creativity can provide a gentle way to reconnect and rediscover hope, even when words are hard to find. Through our work together, we’ll explore what’s contributing to your depression and create space for self-expression, helping you to navigate your way toward greater emotional balance and fulfillment.
Parenting can be incredibly rewarding, but it also brings unique challenges that can leave you feeling self-critical, angry, or lost. It often involves a profound sense of loss—a loss of control over your life, time, body, and relationships; a loss of former identity; and sometimes even a loss in social standing connected to career. Parenthood also brings overwhelming hormonal changes that can affect mood and emotional wellbeing. Additionally, we often re-experience aspects of our own childhoods as we parent, which can be both triggering and painful. My work with parents focuses on creating a compassionate space where you can explore these experiences and reconnect with your strengths. Through creativity, we can navigate these complexities together, finding new ways of thinking about relationships and challenges. This approach helps foster greater confidence, insight, and compassion for yourself as you navigate the ups and downs of parenthood.
Trauma can have a deep and lasting impact, often affecting how you feel and respond in everyday life. In my trauma-informed approach, I make sure that you feel safe, supported, and in control of your healing journey. We’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you, taking the time to understand how your past experiences are affecting your present-day life. Creativity can be both a gentle and profound way to help you express and explore your feelings—whether through art, words, or other forms of expression. My goal is to help you process what you've been through in a way that feels manageable, while helping you reconnect with your strength and resilience. Together, we’ll work at your pace to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and at ease in your day-to-day life.
