My Approach

My integrative model is based around Gestalt theory blending some Psychodynamic and CBT/Narrative thinking. I work relationally which means I believe in being authentic and I want to make contact with you and your needs whilst encouraging you to do the same. I am aware that everyone is different and my aim is to create a space where you feel able to explore these differences and find an approach that works for you.

About Me

Hello, it's really important that you feel seen and heard. I work with clients to help them see and hear themselves as well as seek what they need in relationships with others. Maybe you are struggling with anxiety and depression relating to life events in the past or present. You may find it helpful to explore ways to manage your symptoms; find closure and become unstuck or reconnect with parts of yourself you have lost or never discovered.

How might therapy help?

I offer both short and long term counselling and psychotherapy. I can be of help if you are looking for tools to cope with your current circumstances; wanting to explore past experiences and heal; or get in touch with your true self to understand and potentially change your patterns. It may be you are not sure what you want from therapy yet but just feel you need to start somewhere. I can offer you the space and understanding to gain awareness of what you need and support you to make the changes you want at your own pace.

I am a fully accredited member of UKCP and a registered member of BACP. I have completed an MSc in Intergrative Psychotherapy, an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy Studies and a Certificate in Professional Psychotherapy Practice. I have 3 years of experience working with a wide range of clients both face to face and remotely presenting with anxiety, depression and trauma.

Along with my psychotherapy training I draw from my experience of working in special needs education for 10 years where I have focused on supporting communication needs. This has helped me develop an understanding of learning differences and the importance of patience, creativity and a touch of humor when exploring new and old ideas.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have some sensory impairments which led me to notice the difficulties disabled people can face as a result in therapy and in the wider world.
I have a particular interest in Gender identity and have worked with a range of clients exploring this. This may consist of exploring where you fit (or don't fit) into gender norms or your feelings around gender stereotypes and the difficulties they may cause. Discussing gender in therapy is not limited to identifying as non binary or transgender but can also include toxic masculinity culture or what it means to be a woman in todays society. Gender identity can be very personal and I want to provide a space where it is ok to explore these ideas without judgement for clients.
