My Approach

I am naturally warm and empathic and hold a genuine respect for all people. I believe that this allows me to establish a relationship with those that I work with which facilitates a caring, secure, confidential and judgement free environment .

Over the years having worked alongside many different people from all walks of life, accruing thousand of hours of clinical experience, I hold the view that much like our unique fingerprint no two people are psychologically the same. It is because of this that I have been trained as, and work as an Integrative Psychotherapist.

My knowledge and experience has also shown me that people usually enter therapy with the view of wanting to better their relational lives in some way, whether that is within themselves, with others, or indeed their life situation. As such, my aim as a therapist is to not only offer you the support to deal with your present difficulties, but to also offer a safe environment to explore the past terrains of your life. I'll seek to help you work through historic pain and move forward towards your future hopes, offering a working relationship that is both therapeutic and progressive.

About Me

I have worked within the private, voluntary and public sectors. My working career began when I became a business owner in my late teens. I later worked in education for 10 years as a learning mentor supporting children educationally, behaviourally and emotionally within primary school settings. At the same time, having entered therapy in my late 20's, I began a 9 year academic journey to Masters level, training to work as a psychotherapist.

I have also worked within the Leeds Hospice St Gemma's, a charitable organisation, as a befriender in the day hospice supporting the terminally ill and as a volunteer Counsellor at the charity Leeds Counselling before beginning my career as a self-employed psychotherapist. I have also volunteered as a BACP network meeting facilitator in Leeds. Over 8 years ago I co-founded Evolve Counselling & Therapy Center in central Leeds .
