I aim to create a calm, reliable and non-judgemental environment where we can talk in depth about the difficulties that have brought you to therapy. In addition to exploring your present-day circumstances, the process of therapy will involve looking at your developmental history, formative life experiences, early family dynamics, significant relationships and internal world. Together, we will explore the patterns and themes that underlie your thoughts, feelings and behaviour, with a view to bringing your unconscious processes into your conscious awareness and facilitating meaningful change.
I work on an open-ended basis or on a time-limited basis, depending on your therapeutic goals and preferred structure. Open-ended therapy continues for as long as you need it whereas time-limited therapy continues for an agreed number of sessions.
A therapy session is 50 minutes long and takes place on a set day and time every week, apart from agreed holiday breaks. I offer once-weekly or twice-weekly sessions.
My fee is £85 per session. The initial consultation is free of charge. I am registered as a provider with AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality and WPA.
I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor with a career background in law. Based in the Balham and Tooting area of south west London, I offer in-person and online therapy sessions to adults. As a multicultural therapist, I welcome clients with diverse backgrounds and identities, and have experience working with a range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress and trauma.
I hold an MA and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from The Minster Centre (validated by Middlesex University) and am a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to UKCP and BACP's codes of ethics and have a clear enhanced DBS certificate.
In addition to working in private practice, I volunteer as a therapist at One in Four – a specialist charity that supports adult survivors of child sexual abuse and trauma. Previously I worked for three years at a generalist counselling service in south west London and volunteered for four years at a residential respite centre for people who are at risk of suicide.
Prior to my career in mental health, I worked for 10 years in the legal sector as a solicitor, specialising in dispute resolution and corporate social responsibility. I also hold a master’s degree in law.
