I am an accredited psychotherapist offering psychotherapy and counselling to individuals on a short-term or open-ended basis. My practice is based in three central London locations – Dalston N16, Brixton SW2, and Waterloo SE1.
I hold an MA in Core Process Psychotherapy (CPP) from the Karuna Institute and I am a fully accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy. CPP includes aspects of body psychotherapy and transpersonal psychology and is underpinned by Western developmental theories, as well as Buddhist psychology, mindfulness and awareness practices.
My work is inspired and supported by a well-established meditation and Zen Buddhist practice, as well as an ongoing conscious movement practice.
The psychotherapeutic relationship is very much about building a safe, trusted space where careful attention can be given to whatever is arising in the body-mind, whether it be thoughts, feelings, emotions or bodily sensations. Over time, the combination of empathic relationship and non-judgemental awareness allows long-held traumas to be resolved and the inherent health at the heart of the self to become more and more known.
The challenges of life don't disappear, but rather your capacity to be with them and to negotiate difficult experience does.
Because relationship is the essence of psychotherapy, finding the right therapist is really key. This is why I offer a free no-obligation initial consultation, where you can talk about your needs, ask any questions you may have, and find out whether you would like to continue.
There are many reasons why people are drawn to psychotherapy and counselling. You may be wrestling with a specific issue – ongoing anxiety, eating problems or body image issues, perhaps – or you may need support during a life-changing upheaval such as a bereavement or relationship breakdown. You may feel stuck and want to bring more creativity and meaning into your life. Whatever is going on for you, psychotherapy and counselling offer a way to open up to greater ease, intimacy and possibility in life.
