Mental health difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), can be understood in the context of challenging life experiences and their impact on an individual’s relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them. When these experiences are not explored and understood, unhelpful relational patterns may develop. These patterns can remain outside of conscious awareness and continue to influence emotional wellbeing and interpersonal functioning. Such difficulties may also be connected to factors including culture, race, sexuality, age, and immigration experiences.
I offer a compassionate and confidential therapeutic space, supporting clients to make sense of their difficulties, heal from the impact of trauma, and build more connected, confident, and fulfilling relationships. I integrate EMDR into my clinical practice to facilitate this process.
I am a qualified Systemic Family Psychotherapist with extensive experience working within the NHS, alongside a private practice. I am currently employed by North London Mental Health Trust.
I am fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have integrated this approach into my clinical practice since 2017. In addition, I am trained in Non-Violent Resistance (NVR), providing support to families and carers of loved ones experiencing mental health difficulties.
I was born and raised in Turkey and completed my Bachelor’s degree at Yildiz Technical University. I offer therapy in both English and Turkish.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
