My Approach

Compassionate and caring and always seeing the family and/or individual as central to their care. Collaboration and connection is so important when supporting people therapeutically and I hold this position as paramount. I have a variety of skills that I use in sessions and consider after getting to know someone, what may be the best fit for their care and to support their future well being.

About Me

I am a qualified psychotherapist currently working in the nhs and privately. I am a systemic and family psychotherapist and an EMDR therapist. I work with all ages and individuals, families and couples. I have been working in children and young peoples mental health services for 10yrs in a variety of contexts - CAMHS, adoption, fostering and residential care, children’s social care services and currently in an all age eating disorder service.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Being a systemic and family psychotherapist, most of my work is me has been with families, I am confident and skilled in working with families and can adapt support to meet families specific needs and presentations. I also have my own family experiences of mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental difficulties and have a range of skills that can offer from a direct experience perspective.
The last 10yrs of my work has been in mental health services, I am skilled in identifying and understand mental health difficulties and have experience and training to help people with their difficulties.
I have worked in a number of services whereby trauma has been the predominant factor in a persons life and I have therapeutic training and skills that I can support people with, alongside a caring and understanding approach.
