TA is at the core of my practice, however I draw on other modalities to provide a bespoke treatment plan for each of my clients, couples and groups. My preference is to work face to face with clients, however I do offer online sessions too. I only work with couples and groups face to face.
Individual clients: I provide a nurturing, save and confidential space to help clients work through any difficulties in life they are facing and to improve their mental health & emotional wellbeing. I work co-creatively with clients, meaning together, we will collaborate your therapy sessions to facilitate healing and therapeutic change.
Couples: I am currently working towards becoming a certified Imago Relationship therapist and use Imago techniques with couples. Imago is a powerful tool for couples to increase communication, intimacy, healing and conflict resolution.
Trainee Groups: I offer open ended, closed groups (3 spaces per group) to UKCP trainees at level 6. Therapy groups are a cost and time effective way of gaining required therapy hours for your qualification. If you are a trainee looking to join a group, get in touch to see if I have any current spaces available. Alternatively, if you are a group of 3 looking to join a new group, get in touch to see if I have capacity to facilitate your group.
Other Groups: I facilitate rolling groups for people struggling with unhealthy relationships with food and/or eating disorders/disordered eating. Each group is closed, has 4 spaces, and runs weekly for 12 weeks. If you are interested in joining, please get in touch to enquire dates for the next group.
I’m Debbie, an Integrative and Transactional Analysis (TA) Psychotherapist. I also have a BSc (Honours) in Psychology.
Prior to being a therapist, I worked in mental health services for almost 20 years in frontline and managerial roles. Throughout this time, I developed significant experience and a passion for supporting people with mental health difficulties. In particular, with adults and young people struggling with eating disorders or eating difficulties, and obsessive-compulsive behaviours.
I understand from my own personal journey of psychotherapy how difficult it can be to allow yourself to be vulnerable and ask for help. It takes courage and strength to access therapy and reaching out is often the hardest step.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
