I practice as a relational integrative psychotherapist. The relational part denotes as humans we are shaped by our social constructs, with our sense of self intimately entwined with our relationships. This suggests that if our relationship (past, present & future) inhibits or causes us hurt, it can also be harnessed in the therapeutic relationship – in the pursuit of growth and healing.
The important thing is that YOU being an accumulation of your life’s experience, are unique, And so working integratively, means merging elements of humanistic and existential psychological knowledge and practice, so that our approach to your therapy, best fits with your mental, physical, and emotional health.
As a UKCP registered psychotherapist I am able to work with a wide range of issues.
I have great interest in, patience, and compassion for my clients. I believe everyone should have the chance to hear themselves, and to be heard. You may feel “oh, she’s heard it all before,” or “my problem is not big enough to talk about.” I can assure you, that is not the case.
I have a Masters Degree in integrative psychotherapy, and have worked in a number of counselling services in addition to private practice. As a registered member of the UKCP, I fully comply with its code of ethics.
Integrative psychotherapy draws together current research and methodology about the process of suffering, healing and change from different, and interrelated psychological and philosophical thinking. I make it my business to stay up-to-date with current research including developments in somatic therapy and neurobiology.
People that have worked with me, tell me I am holding, warm and calm; I hope to provide these qualities for you too.
