About Me

My intention as a Jungian Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist is to help people to clarify how they want to live, and how to live as they want to. This involves being deeply curious about the kind of attention people bring to themselves, to others and to the world. I imagine psychotherapy therefore as a collaborative search of the creative easement that sits between curiosity and doubt. I’ve dedicated much of my adult life to an exploration of awareness practices, across a range of cultural, depth psychological and contemplative traditions, and have cultivated daily intentional silence for close to twenty five years alongside family and professional life.

I hold registrations as a Jungian and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and am professionally registered with with:

The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP, Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis College)
The Uk College of Psychoanalysts (CP-UK)

I am also professionally registered with European (Transpersonal) and Worldwide psychotherapy organisations, having practiced in South-East Asia in the past.

Following an initial career as a derivatives trader on the London derivatives exchange, I undertook a personal Jungian analysis and retrained as a psychotherapist over many years. Unusually qualified in a range of postgraduate psychotherapy approaches, I practice from a Jungian and contemplative perspective. Having occupied senior psychotherapy positions within the NHS, I subsequently have a long consulting history of synthesising post-Jungian, contemplative and Zen ideas with social dreaming methods, as a creative approach to enabling groups of people to think new thoughts and feel more connected together. I’ve also written variously about contemplation, silence, social dreaming, surfing, Zen and poetry.

I’m employed as the Head of Consultancy for an innovative, London based (but international) psychological mentoring company.

I retain a small London-based (in person) and (international) online private practice for adult clients seeking an explorative engagement with depth psychotherapy.
