Attachment Based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
I am a UKCP registered Attachment Based Psychoanalytical Psychotherapist. I have been working in clinical psychiatric settings for over twenty years, with experience ranging from acute forensic psychiatry, to community mental health, to rehabilitative neuropsychiatry. Over the course of my career I have emphasised a therapeutic, psychological, and analytical approach to working with emotional and psychiatric difficulties.
I am devoted to helping those who have experienced trauma, who present as high need, but who often struggle engaging with a mainstream mental health provision. I work in an attentive and containing way, with continuous observation of the attachment model, developing trust from which to cultivate emotional health and self discovery.
I believe psychotherapy, through a process of attuning to the emotional needs of the client, can help the disorganised and frustrated individual to feel grounded and contained, and to begin to develop a language with which to express emotion.
I am available to discuss your needs and how therapeutic work might help to meet them, either by phone or by email. The details can be found below.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
