Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist providing brief and long term therapy. Registered DIT practitioner and supervisor.
I am a Principal Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist working in the NHS and in private practice and have provided specialist psychoanalytic psychotherapy for over 25 years. I have clinical experience as a qualified general nurse, a registered mental health nurse with a first class BSc (hons) and registration with the NMC as a specialist community mental health nurse practitioner. My core mental health training and extensive experience in the NHS informs my practice. My professional psychoanalytic psychotherapy training and registration is with South Trent of which I am now a member of the Training Committee and Tutor's Group where I contribute to the recruitment, training and review of trainee psychoanalytic psychotherapists in the NHS. As well as longer term psychoanalytic psychotherapy I am also trained and registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council to provide brief (16 sessions) dynamic interpersonal therapy (DIT) for anxiety and depression. I also provide analytically informed supportive psychotherapy for common and complex mental health problems. I am a UKCP registered supervisor and provide psychoanalytic supervision for experienced psychotherapist colleagues, medical and Psychology trainees as well as those wishing to develop their understanding and skills in a psychoanalytic/psychodynamic model. My private practice is a short walk from the Cathedral in Lincoln, Lincolnshire and I am contactable by email at catherinelisafarrell@icloud.com. I welcome enquiries for training therapy.
