I am a trauma therapist trained initially in Integrative Psychotherapy. This means I have trained in multiple modalities and will draw on these as appropriate in your therapy. I combine the latest work in neuroscience, polyvagal theory, interpersonal neurobiology and attachment research with evidence based trauma modalities. I am interested in how self-compassion assists in the healing journey work and together we will look at the issues that are causing you pain. I work in a relational way and will pay careful attention to our relationship in the room, it is important for the success of your therapy that we develop a relationship in which you feel safe, understood and heard. My training at the Metanoia Institute was rigorous and intensive and, as well as being professional and experienced, I bring extensive life experience to our collaboration. I have done multiple trauma and nervous system trainings and trained with Deb Dana in Polyvagal Theory. I am an EMDR practitioner and a Transforming Touch practitioner.
I worked for more than 15 years in Financial Services in the city of London before a reevaluation of my own life prompted me to retrain as a psychotherapist. I now work in private practice in the City of London and central London. I am passionate about the possibilities that therapy brings to my clients' lives and believe that, at its best, therapy can be a powerful agent of change.
Psychotherapy can help you develop your awareness and understanding of yourself and your life choices helping you to feel more at ease in your world. Taking a pause and reflecting on your life in therapy creates both a physical and emotional space for you and this can be very beneficial.
I am particularly interested in how we can live our own beautiful life after experiencing wounding or trauma in childhood and I will support you in your own investigation of this. I host a weekly podcast 'Grow Yourself Up' which focuses on how we can shift patterns of pain and dysfunction for ourselves and our families.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
