About Me

Going to therapy can sound formal and serious, perhaps intimidating. There can be ideas that people only turn to therapy when they hit ‘rock bottom’ or they have a diagnosed mental health problem.
Experience has shown me that people seek out therapy for all sorts of reasons. For some, having space to learn more about themselves and their relationships can make the difference. Others may find value in having support with navigating specific life events or dilemmas.
Throughout my life I have always been interested in the relationships we create, and more latterly, the impact these relationships and connections can have on wellness and healing. This interest led me to study Systemic Psychotherapy at a masters level.
For the past 8 years I have worked with children, teens, families and parenting couples experiencing a range of difficulties within an NHS mental health service, initially as a mental health nurse before qualifying as a Systemic Psychotherapist. In these years I have seen first-hand the transformations that can occur through therapeutic conversations.
Much like living organisms that contribute to, and are affected by, the overall functioning and health of their ecosystem, our human relationships also form part of our social ecosystem. While I am equipped to work with individuals, families, or couples, the principle that we are all part of complex relational ecosystems underpins my approach throughout.
