As an accredited cognitive analytic (CAT) psychotherapist and supervisor, I have recently moved to Cumbria and wish to provide therapy sessions for people in this locality. Your diagnosis, or the nature of your problems is less important than whether we can work together to manage them more satisfactorily. CAT aims to help people understand how they relate to other people and about the patterns that hold them back from leading satisfying lives or making healthy choices. If you wish to find out more, do give me a ring, or email me. Afterwards, we can meet and decide if we want to go ahead together.
I can also offer individual or group supervision for staff; consultations, therapy for mental health professionals or training therapies ( “Personal Reformulations”).
Modalities
My CAT training began in 1995, but I previously studied a range of therapies including humanistic and psychodynamic models. In addition to nearly 40 years as an NHS clinical psychologist, my previous work has included contributions to MIND and Adult Education where I have taught co-counselling courses and set up peer self-development groups. I have always been interested in staff-support and in promoting User influence over the shape of services.
Location
My base is near Ambleside, but I can travel to Kendal or, for groups, to mutually agreed venues in Cumbria and the North West.
Hours:
Flexible – we can arrange mutually convenient times
