Dr Annette Wilson is a registered Senior Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and is a member of Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT) and College for Family, Couple and Systemic Therapy. She is also trained in CBT and Narrative Attachment Theory.
She has co-piloted a Multi-Family Bereavement Group that has been running successfully for over a decade within her current position in the NHS (CAMHS) as a Family and Systemic Psychotherapy lead. Focus of her work has been to help shift or adjust a belief and create in collaboration new patterns of behaviour and family scripts which would assist in understanding what is informing the child and adolescent’s behaviour and help in improving, stopping or changing the worrying behaviour.
Dr Wilson has extensive experience working in the voluntary and statutory sector with children, adolescents, couples, parents, individuals, families from diverse communities presenting with mental health, emotional and family difficulties. She has worked with the full spectrum of clinical presentations ranging from mild to severe. Areas of expertise include complex bereavement, childhood abuse, trauma, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, domestic and sexual abuse, relational issues, identity and sense of self.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
