Talking to someone and being fully listened to, without being judged, can be the start of a process of developing strategies and solutions and coming to terms with difficult and traumatic experiences. The setting provides a calm and safe place to speak in confidence about things which might never have been spoken of before. Working psychoanalytically involves paying particular attention to the words spoken and can reveal the unconscious processes which drive us.
I am a psychoanalyst practicing with a Lacanian orientation in Cambridge. I work with individuals providing one to one psychoanalytic psychotherapy, both long and shorter term. I am a member of the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research and am registered with The College of Psychoanalysts (UK).
