I currently work as a therapist in private practice in Harpenden and with a clinic in North London. I previously worked as a therapist at Priory Hospital North, the LGBTQ charity London Friend, Middlesex University and for the mental health charity MIND. I am a registered member of BACP and SEA and I am accredited by UKCP. My past experience, both academic and vocational, has exposed me to a wide range of life experiences and led me to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Working phenomenologically is a way to gently discover deeply held experiences that impact behaviour and everyday experience of being human. With increased self-awareness comes the potential for change and relief from distress. I have experience of working with issues that include but are not limited to: postpartum depression, motherhood/fatherhood, bereavement, anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders, drug and alcohol use, neurodiversity, sexuality, relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse.
I practice existential psychotherapy, informed by my extensive 5 year academic and clinical training. I am trauma informed and integrate body and breath work into my practice. The therapeutic relationship is an integral part of the process and can be used to help illuminate what relationship patterns have developed, with oneself and others, and how they impact experience of self and overall wellbeing.
I am open and compassionate and approach my work with all clients with honesty, humilty and commitment.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
