My Approach

As an integrative psychotherapist, I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs and goals. I may use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help clients find quick relief from anxiety and automatic negative thoughts, Phenomenological-Existential Therapy to explore personal values and adaptive decision-making, and Psychodynamic and Internal Family Systems Therapy to uncover past experiences that may still be influencing the present.
I believe that no single approach fits all, and I adapt therapy to suit the individual. Currently, I work exclusively in private practice, offering remote therapy sessions. To help potential clients determine if online therapy is right for them, I offer a free 15-minute trial video call. Simply send me a text or email, and we can arrange a no-obligation call.
Additionally, during the summer months, I offer in-person eco therapy sessions in a park in the Fulham area of London.
I provide therapy in both English and Italian.

About Me

My name is Anna, and I am a psychotherapist with over 12 years of experience. I am a firm believer in the transformative power of personal therapy and strive to provide a strong therapeutic relationship where clients can process their emotions and make informed decisions about their future.
With a background in UK mental health services, I have extensive experience with the long-term challenges that can impact emotional well-being. Many clients seek therapy because they feel stuck—whether due to fear, past trauma, or behavioral patterns that no longer serve them. I believe psychotherapy offers the space and support necessary to assess the present and create a conscious path forward.
I am a registered psychotherapist with the UKCP and hold a master’s degree in clinical psychology. In addition to my core training, I have completed courses in human sexuality, leadership, family systems, CBT, and RAID (managing challenging behaviour). As an integrative therapist, I draw from multiple therapeutic modalities to provide a first-class, tailored approach to each client.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

A common experience for many, anxiety is, in many ways, an adaptive response designed to protect us. I have extensive experience treating anxiety-related issues, including panic attacks, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), phobias, social anxiety, fear of public speaking, and chronic worry. My approach is rooted in existential therapy, which views anxiety as a signal that deserves to be understood rather than feared. Therapy can help clients explore the underlying messages of their anxiety and channel it into meaningful action. I also integrate CBT techniques, which are evidence-based and highly effective in managing anxiety-related concerns.
Nearly half of all marriages—and many long-term partnerships—end in separation. What is less widely known is that divorce is considered one of life’s most significant stressors. While at the beginning of my career my interest was mainly on repairing and forming relationships, I later also recognized the need for support when relationships end. Sometimes, separation is the healthiest choice, and I became interested in approaches such as conscious uncoupling to help individuals navigate breakups in a constructive way. This type of therapy is particularly valuable for co-parents, helping them maintain a healthy dynamic for the well-being of their children. Although I work with individuals rather than couples, my approach complements couples therapy when needed. I also provide guidance on how separation affects children and offer best practices to create a stable environment where families can continue to thrive. I believe society needs better ways to handle divorce, and I strive to be part of that change.
In my years working with individuals affected by severe mental health conditions, I have observed that those with strong support networks tend to show greater resilience and recover more quickly. Research confirms that meaningful relationships have a profound impact on both mental and physical health. I specialize in helping clients at all stages of forming and managing healthy relationships, including those with romantic partners, spouses, friends, ex-partners, work colleagues, and family members—as well as the crucial relationship with oneself. I have a particular interest in working with individuals who struggle to find or maintain committed romantic relationships. My research at Middlesex University explored the impact of psychotherapy on the ability to form healthy relationships.
Spirituality—whether religious or non-religious—plays a significant role in many people’s lives. My approach is open and inclusive, allowing clients to explore their belief systems, including rationalism, atheism, and agnosticism, in a safe and supportive space. For much of my life, I identified as an agnostic, believing that the existence of something beyond the physical world was unknowable. However, I recently experienced what is described in literature as a spontaneous spiritual awakening. This profound experience has deepened my understanding of spiritual perspectives, and I now offer therapy through both psychological and spiritual lenses, where appropriate. Clients who choose to incorporate spirituality into therapy often find it brings relief, insight, and even joy to areas of life previously filled with sorrow or regret.
My first role as a therapist was in a busy NHS primary care service, working with clients at high risk of moving from suicidal thoughts to active intent. Over the years, I have seen that suicidal ideation is far more common than people think, affecting individuals from all walks of life. Clients often tell me that what helped them most was not a specific technique, but rather my non-judgmental approach—validating their thoughts and helping them feel understood. I believe that suicidal ideation is a normal and common human experience and that acknowledging these thoughts is the first step in fostering a safe, therapeutic alliance. For clarity and safety, I do not offer full confidentiality regarding suicide risk. This is only the case, if I believe a client is at risk of harming themselves or others. Additionally, I ask all clients experiencing suicidal ideation to sign a ‘no suicide’ contract while in therapy with me. I often conceptualize depression and suicidal thoughts as signs that a person has lost connection with their authentic self. Therapy, therefore, frequently involves exploring authenticity, people-pleasing tendencies, and the ‘false self’ to help clients reconnect with their core identity.
