My primary approach is Integrative. This means that we work on whatever you need to work on, and I bring in various ways of working. What is most important is that you feel safe, and that we are able to develop a professional relationship where you can work on the issues you are facing. I also recognise that successful recovery/healing/growth requires us to think about not just the therapy, but how you can modify your life outside of therapy.
I work weekly with clients, for 50 minute sessions, although can offer some flexibility with this depending on your needs. I do primarily work in person, although also offer online sessions. Lasting change takes place over the longer term rather than the shorter term, and it is usually helpful to consider this when thinking about starting therapy.
Starting psychotherapy can be scary at first, and it is important to me that you are able to talk about whatever you need to. It is important to me that you feel accepted regardless of individual differences. I am open to having a conversation about this.
I am an Integrative psychotherapist, with over 15 years’ experience. I am also trained in family therapy, and am open to working with families and dyads when needed, as well as individuals.
I have a diploma in supervision, and am also a practice educator. I have experience of supervising a range of modalities, and have extensive experience of working with clients at all developmental stages. My statutory experience is usually also helpful when thinking about risk in your work.
When not working, I paint portraits, and play the harp.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
