My Approach

Psychodynamic psychotherapy

About Me

Life brings many challenges and it could be that one of the reasons you have come to this site is to find support or a safe port in what can often feel like a storm.

I offer a safe, supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore a wide range of challenges that can feel unsettling to discuss with the outside world. Finding the exact words to best communicate what is troubling you might feel hard or you might feel under pressure from others to attend therapy. This is a talking therapy which helps to make sense of complicated emotional reactions and thoughts, whilst supporting you to live your life more fully.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an evidence based therapy that explores the connection between past experiences and the current mindset. This can help find some relief from abuse (sexual or emotional), addiction (drugs, alcohol, eating disorders, gambling, sex), anxiety, depression, grief and loss, obsessive compulsive disorders, the manifestation of boarding school syndrome, social anorexia, self-harm and suicide ideation.

I hold a BA (Hons) from Royal Holloway, London University and a post-graduate diploma in psychodynamic theory and practice (5 years intensive training) accredited by Roehampton University. I have also worked at a leading treatment centre for addiction (Promis clinics).

In the first instance please do reach out for a free fifteen minute call and we can then decide on the best way forward. There is the opportunity for a full consultation after which I could either offer an unlimited/open ended programme of once weekly sessions (50 mins) or a brief/time limited programme of 12 weeks consisting of one weekly sessions (50 mins).

From my experience. the most important facet of any therapeutic approach is the dynamic between therapist and client. A phone call would give a quick glimpse of what this might be like.
