I am trained as an integrative psychotherapist and am able to adapt my approach to your needs. The relationship we build is a very important part of the process, and I will focus on building a supportive and trusting bond. Within this safe space it becomes possible to achieve greater self awareness which can uncover the barriers that have unknowingly been getting in the way of more satisfying relationships in your life, as well as challenging long standing patterns and beliefs that may no longer be serving you, causing detriment to your self-esteem, and ability to go forwards. Whilst it can sometimes be helpful to have tools, our work will focus more on understanding those parts of yourself which may feel hidden, troubling and confusing.
Perhaps you are experiencing stress and anxiety, or difficulties around loss, or feeling lonely or unhappy in relationships? Maybe something has happened recently to trigger your unhappiness, or perhaps it has been like this for a long time. The way you are feeling might be uncomfortable and hard to understand, and I want you to know that people access therapy for many reasons, often when their usual coping strategies are no longer working. Reaching out to family and friends may not always be enough, and so seeking professional help becomes the next step. As a therapist, I will work to build a safe and supportive space where you can start to explore and make sense of whatever is happening to you.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
