About Me

Hello, I’m Ali, a psychotherapist providing private one-to-one and couples therapy in Peckham, South East London. I also work via Skype and over the phone. My main work outside of private practice was as a specialist cancer and palliative care psychotherapist in the NHS. I trained in Existential Psychotherapy, which provides me with a philosophical outlook on life and the inevitable struggles within it. My doctoral research was into ex-military personnel returning to civilian life. I have worked across a range of sectors in my career, including domestic abuse prevention and Child Line in the charity sector, Mind in the public sector and in an NHS drug treatment service. This has given me a breadth of experience but I am particularly skilled in helping with anxiety, stress, bereavement, crisis of values, depression, confidence, panic attacks and relationship issues. I can work with you for just a few sessions up to a period of years, meaning I can tailor our time together to your needs, whether short or long-term. I am available in the daytime as well as in the evening to accommodate normal working hours. While I have experience of working with children and young people I currently work exclusively with adults.
