I believe our maladaptive coping mechanisms are frequently creative and courageous attempts at problem-solving.
Working collaboratively, with empathy and radical compassion, I ground the work in deepening awareness, responsibility and choice, and freedom. Working from the position that it is rarely the individual who is broken, but rather that the world is often hostile to difference, I attend to my client’s internal world and their wider relationships.
I support clients in making sense of what helps and what hinders in the pursuit of authenticity and happiness.
I am an existential psychotherapist with specific interest in relationships, emotional literacy, and how we make sense of our engagement with the world. A core question for therapy is ‘how do I want to be?’ and to understand this, it means looking at our experience and how this shapes our thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
I have personal experience of both ADHD and Autism. I therefore have a particular sensitivity to ADHD/ASD and the Neurodivergent experience in a predominantly Neurotypical world.
In a world of increasing polarities, I am interested in experiences of difference and how we might best relate to this.
