My skills involve listening to the story of your life, reflective feelings and patterns of behaviour and encouraging self-awareness and development through creative imagination. This may include breathwork, visualisations, bodyscans and drawing. This allows us to work on what is going on for you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Some areas I have been exploring with clients recently, include:
Autism
Identity
Sex/Kink
Bereavement
Releasing trauma
Job dissatisfaction
Relationship difficulties
Supporting parents of children with challenging behaviour
I am a Friend of BAATN – The Black, African and Asian Therapy Network and am currently undertaking: The Un-Making of Them: Diploma Training in Specialist Psychotherapy with Ex-Boarders.
I am a Transpersonal Integrative Psychotherapist which means I use a range of disciplines and techniques to respond to my clients. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space to explore and express yourself. Underpinning my practice is the belief that we are all made up of mind, body and soul. Our essential qualities can be covered over by the stress of life and our environment. Our work is to reveal the soul nature underneath and find ways to heal and nourish the true self.
Outside of my private practice I work in schools around Kingston providing therapy to children as well as training and workshops for families and staff. I have a BSc (Hons) in Sport Psychology, an MA in Transpersonal Child, Adolescent and Family Therapy and a Diploma in Sandplay Therapy. I am accredited by UKCP and registered with BACP. My hourly rate is £80.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
