I have wide experience in all common mental health problems as well as serious mental illness including psychosis, BPAD and personality disorders. I have worked extensively with Trauma and neurodevelopmental disorders. I have a clinical interest in bringing physical and mental health interventions together, and in the role that exercise can play in improving mental health, healthspan and lifespan and have been involved in lots of research in this area.
My way of working is largely integrative and relational, developing a clear formulation of the problems and providing flexible and supportive interventions that are informed by psychologically well evidenced practice tailored to my client’s unique experiences and goals.
I work with adults and children from nine years and up. I have over twenty five years of therapeutic experience in the NHS. My most recent role being Principal psychotherapist and Operational Manager in an NHS secondary healthcare psychological therapies service.
I provide individual and group psychotherapy for a wide range of mental health problems, and I offer clinical supervision to a variety of mental health professionals.
I am trained in a wide variety of modalities including CBT, Schema Focused therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), psychodynamic and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
I am also accredited as a psychotherapist and supervisor by the BABCP (British association of behavioural and cognitive psychotherapy) and as a senior supervisor/psychotherapist by BACP ( British association of Counselling and psychotherapy).
