In my NHS practice as a Specialist CAMHS Psychotherapist, I work with children, teenagers and their families. In my private and voluntary practice I work with both individuals, couples and families. In all my work my approach centres on relationships. As your therapist I am drawing on masters degree level specialist training in this area, on up to date research and on 15 years of experience in working therapeutically with couple and family relationships. I am also a a Relate trained Counsellor.
So many difficulties which we face as inviduals are rooted in our relationships with others, both past and present. It is perhaps for this reason that I also see many individual clients for whom past and present relationships lie at the heart of their difficulties. My approach as a therapist is compassionate, reflective, inquiring and hopeful, engaging each person with what matters to them. Particular attention is paid to meanings and perceptions, relationship patterns, family culture and how these affect thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
