About

WPI is a not-for-profit organisation that provides accessible, modular psychotherapy training and is based in Cardiff. It is an organisational member of UKCP. WPI seeks to widen access to high quality psychotherapy throughout Wales and aims to:

1. Train psychotherapists and counsellors to the highest professional standards in the UK.

2. Deliver high quality effective therapeutic interventions to people otherwise unable to access psychotherapy through the Affordable Therapy Service delivered by advanced trainees.

3. Provide creative leadership in the field of psychotherapy and counselling in Wales through our developing network of graduates and professional colleagues.

4. Promote standards of best practice regarding the mental health and well-being of people in line with The Welsh Assembly Government’s stated policy aims and objectives.

We are committed to becoming an inclusive community that challenges inequalities and promotes anti-oppressive practices. We aim to model this approach throughout our training provision and in the running of the whole organisation. We have a business model that seeks to have dialogue, transparency, and good governance, at its centre.
